Competition Experience

Committing to a team and participating in competitions serves as a powerful motivator to train rigorously and push your boundaries. Competitions enable you to clearly see the results of your hard work, making it exciting to gauge your performance against friends and peers. VFS

Vertical Formation Skydiving (VFS)
A discipline that involves a team of 4 inside flyers plus 1 outside video flyer. The competitors are given a sequence of formations and maneuvers and repeat the sequence as many times as possible in 35 seconds. Formations consist of flying in two different orientations (head-down and head-up)

 

Matt has over 10 years experience flying VFS  on both the National and International levels. Experience mostly consists of flying 'primary head-down' and 'primary head-up' slots.

MFS

Mixed Formation Skydiving (MFS)
A discipline that involves a team of 2 inside flyers plus 1 outside video flyer. The competitors are given a sequence of formations and maneuvers and repeat the sequence as many times as possible in 35 seconds. Formations consist of flying in four different orientations (head-down, head-up, belly-to-earth, and back-to earth)

 

Matt has over 10 years experience flying MFS  on the National level. Experience mostly consists of flying camera.

Speed Skydiving (SP)
A discipline that involves a solo competitor trying to achieve the fastest vertical speed possible within a 7,400 ft window. Speed frequently exceed 300 mph!

 

Matt has over 4 years flying Speed  on both the National and International levels. His personal top speed in competition is 320 mph (515 kph).

Freefly

Freefly (AE FF)
A discipline that involves a team of 2 inside flyers plus 1 outside video flyer. The competitors design an artistic routine of aerial maneuvers to showcase the creeativity and coordination fo the team. Much like gymnastics, scoring takes into account the difficulty of each maneuever along with the aesthetic presentation.
 

Matt has over 3 years experience flying Freefly on both the National and International levels.

  • 500-club: One of 20 people in history to score above 500 kph in Speed Skydiving Competition

  • 6th person in history to successfully score above 500 kph in every round of Compeition

  • 2025 - 4th Place in VFS at 24th FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving 2025 in Teuge, The Netherlands

  • 2024 - 21st Place in Speed (Open) at 5th FAI World Speed Skydiving Championships in Beaufort, USA

  • 2023 - 10th Place in Speed (Open) at 5th FAI World Cup of Speed Skydiving in Prostejov, Czech Republic

  • 2023 - 3rd Place in Speed (National Team) at 5th FAI World Cup of Speed Skydiving in Prostejov, Czech Republic

  • 2021 - 3rd Place in Freefly at 13th FAI World Artistic Events Championships in Tanay, Russia
